Getting hotter, cross-border logistics needs to cross the past few hurdles
发布时间:2020-06-09 00:20:00 点击量:249

For domestic e-commerce companies that assist brands to go overseas, and logistics companies that build basic services, the opportunities and challenges in the overseas market that cope with the rivals coexist. A few days ago, Jack Ma, chairman of the Alibaba Group Board of Directors, announced at the 2018 Global Smart Logistics Summit that Cainiao’s smart logistics backbone network will be able to deliver goods to the world within 72 hours. In fact, when domestic commodities go abroad with the help of e-commerce, they are faced with the dilemma of commodities being circulated by multiple logistics companies, but the distribution information cannot be shared, and the collection cycle is difficult to control, resulting in increased logistics costs and timeliness. It has become the key for e-commerce and logistics companies to build a collaborative, digital, and visual logistics network for brands. In the overseas markets where the logistics and e-commerce systems are mature, we are robbing the space for survival, and we have established a first-mover advantage by laying out logistics networks in emerging markets in advance. The two have become the main line of the development of my country's cross-border e-commerce business. And improving the timeliness of distribution is the first threshold that e-commerce companies need to cross when they go overseas.

Climbing the sea

Driven by domestic comprehensive e-commerce and cross-border e-commerce, many domestic products and brands have accelerated their overseas journey, and corresponding cross-border logistics systems have also been established. Recently, Ali announced that it will invest hundreds of billions of yuan to promote Cainiao to build an intelligent logistics backbone network and shorten the circulation time of goods around the world.

As a platform for building a logistics network, Cainiao continuously connects warehouses, trunk lines, feeders and terminal distribution companies involved in export cross-border e-commerce to provide efficient and coordinated cross-border logistics for brands that rely on the Ali e-commerce system to go overseas service. At the same time, JD.com focused its attention on the construction of overseas warehouses. JD.com’s international supply chain has established more than 110 overseas warehouses on five continents. These overseas warehouses have become the “bridgehead” for brands to go abroad, and the entry of overseas products Real-time updating and docking of information such as library, inventory, inventory, outbound, data, etc.

When integrated e-commerce companies use a cross-border logistics network to build a springboard for commodities going abroad, export cross-border e-commerce companies are favored by capital and continue to obtain funds to expand overseas markets. According to the "2017 China Export Cross-border E-commerce Development Report" released by the E-commerce Research Center, there were 32 Chinese exports of cross-border e-commerce in 2017, with a financing scale of 7.127 billion yuan. Export cross-border e-commerce Tongtuo technology, price chain and Youkeshu have successively completed mergers and acquisitions and restructuring. Many capital parties have married with export cross-border enterprises through directional additional issuance or investment.

With the mutual cooperation of e-commerce enterprises, brands and capital, new channels have been established for export business. According to the "China E-Commerce Report 2017" released by the Ministry of Commerce's e-commerce, the total amount of goods imported and exported by customs through cross-border e-commerce was 90.24 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 80.6%. Among them, cross-border e-commerce exports have increasingly become a new channel for Chinese goods to open up overseas markets, and cross-border online retail exports have grown by 41.3%. This shows that the popularity of exporting cross-border e-commerce business has been continuously improved.
